Dr. Carrie Marsh

Education: BSc in Education, BSc BVMS
Hometown: Roleystone
Pets: Princess, Tangles, Mia, Minnie, Scatter, Tiger, Nida, Amethyst, Ruth, Cyclops, Lori, George and Morton.

Dr. Carrie Marsh graduated from Murdoch University in 2007. She has worked at hospitals in Mandurah, Pinjarra, Rockingham, Bullcreek, Byford, and Canning Vale until 2018 when she founded Best Friends' Family Vet Centre. Carrie was a school teacher before deciding to follow her heart and become a Veterinarian. Perhaps that is why she is so patient and caring. Her tireless drive, devotion and desire for animal welfare is unstoppable. Her family home is made up of many strays and unwanted beautiful creatures who Carrie and her young son now love and care for. Sue Saunders

Receptionist

Sue is one of the owners of the practice and will likely be the first person you meet when you come and see us. Sue previously owned and worked in a flourishing hair salon in Armadale and has over 35 years in customer service.
Though new to the veterinary industry, her friendly and welcoming attitude makes her a favourite among the clients. For any problems or concerns Sue will always do her utmost to help or just be there to listen when needed.
Once you get to know Sue, you will learn she is a dedicated wife and mother and that her family is her heart and soul. Sue lives in Byford with her wonderful husband and son, who you will no doubt see at some point, as they will be frequent visitors to the centre.

Chris Marsh

Practice Manager

Chris obtained his Business degree at Curtain University and has over 50 years experience in accounting, administration and management. He lives at home with his menagerie of animals collected by wife and daughter.

Treahn

Veterinary Nurse

Education: Open Colleges
Hometown: Barragup
Pets: A cat called Levi and two horses called Annikin and Pete.

Treahn is currently completing her vet nursing through Open Colleges and has been working in Mandurah for the last 2.5 years. A favourite part of the job for Treahn, is meeting everyone for the first time and hearing about all the stories people have about their furry friends.

A committed and compassionate nurse, Treahn will guarantee to provide your best friend with all the support and comfort they require throughout their illness or surgery. You can rest assured, that under Treahn’s care, your beloved family friends will have all the love and cuddles they need while they are with us and that your pets stay with us will be as stress free as possible.

Outside of work Treahn enjoys competing in Barrel racing with her horses Anikan and Pete. Treahn has recently added a new member to her family with a lovely young pup of indiscriminate breed.

Romilly

Animal Attendant

Education: Thornlie Christian College
Hometown: Thornlie
Pets: 2 dogs and a cat.

Romilly, is a year 10 student at Thornlie Christian College. At school, Romilly has a strong interest in the sciences, especially biology and eventually she would like to study Veterinary Medicine and Surgery when she goes to university. Ever since she was little, Romilly has been passionate about animals. Her pets over the years have included fish, chickens, guinea pigs, rabbit, cats, dogs, hermit crabs and even slaters from the garden. Romilly is especially passionate about animals receiving lots of love and care which makes her a perfect addition to the team. It is her dream to be able to help animals and their owners through the good times and the bad.

Currently, Romilly is owned by a 7.6 kg orange cat named Antonio who refuses to associate with the 2 dogs who also share the household.

Michelle

Receptionist/Animal Attendant

Education: Certificate IV in Tourism, Diploma in Travel and Tour Guiding, Diploma in Travel and Tourism.
Home Town: Canning Vale.
Pets: 2 cats, Ash and Storm plus Zorro her dog.

Originally from Albany, Michelle loves the wide-open spaces and the beautiful rugged coastline of Western Australian. Michelle now lives on a property in Canning Vale with her husband and her 2 amazing children, whom she loves to spend time with.
Michelle has an enormous amount of experience working with customers through her study in tourism and with over 27 years of working in administrative positions.
Recently, Michelle has decided to change her career path to vet nursing, as she finds she is happiest when working with animals. With her gentle and calm nature, Michelle is able to calm even the most fractious of animals and soon has them eating out the palm of her hand.

Rachel

Veterinary Nurse

Education: Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing
Hometown: Midland
Pets: Maxx
Rachel began her career working with animals 8 years ago and has experience working in pet stores and as a groomer. In July 2018 Rachel completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing.
Rachel enjoys reading about interesting medical cases and continuing her education through attending seminars every few months. Rachel loves all aspects of vet nursing, but has a special interest in surgical nursing, dentistry and animal behaviour.
One of Rachel’s most memorable events was working with the lions and hyenas in Africa and her dream is to visit other sanctuaries around the world working with the various wildlife. Rachel has also spent time volunteering in different Australian wildlife parks in Peth.
Rachel is mum to Maxx the Jack Russel x chihuahua and enjoys taking him for walks in the park.

Jayne

Groomer

Jayne has operated and run her own successful grooming business for the last 15 years, working mainly around the metropolitan area, though she has also spent some time working in rural areas. Prior to this Jayne worked in aged care but then decided to follow her dream to work with animals and enrolled at the WA dog grooming academy. During her time there, Jayne covered various areas including, grooming and business management, product specifications and management of various skin conditions.
During her career Jayne has developed many close relationships both with her clients and their furry friends. Her caring and patient nature plus her attention to detail has made her very popular with her many clients.
Jayne is very excited to embark on a new venture by joining the team at Best Friends’ Family Vet Centre.
